You heard it here first. We are so excited to announce our book sale and silent auction will be taking place August 30 – September 2, 2020 in the Contemporary Club!

Due to the closing of the A.K. Smiley Public Library as of March 16, 2020, The Friends Bookstore will also be closed.  Book donations will not be accepted.

This special book sale starts at 11:00AM and is part of the many activities in Smiley Park during the 48th Annual Lincoln Memorial Shrine Open House. We will have a great selection of Civil War, President Lincoln, and American history books.

Academy Awards Contest is open now! Predict the winners in 24 categories. Open to AK Smiley Public Library cardholders, 18 years or older. Entry forms at the Circulation Desk. One Entry per person. In case of ties, earliest entry will prevail. Prizes: Movie tickets and gift cards sponsored by The State, Martha Green’s Eating Room, Breakfast Shack and Saverino’s. Contest ends Feb. 8th
